Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. Growing up, she listened to a lot of classical music as well as the traditional Boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves the operas and tangos. Additionally, she enjoys the dramatic stage. She began her singing and learning music with her mother, before beginning her singing training when she was 16 under the renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. When she was a student, and a young professional, she performed in many chamber groups and opera choruses in Guadalajara and Mexico City. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo performing classical Latin American music at private performances. Being a teacher and a musician she's committed to many projects in the community thanks to her passion and love for music. Ana has also been a former singer in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her sharing her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she can inspire a love, in particular among the younger generation and keep the tradition vibrant.
