Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September, 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actress. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively on ABC's Lost television series. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of school after her parents divorced to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. Although she was struggling financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut acting as Rachel's Room's main character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. The show ended in 2005 and Grace wanted to appear as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The same character was played by Grace as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace played the role of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran between 2013 and 2014. She plays Faith as a female groupie as well as a model for stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family she is the daughter and elder sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as an early teenager, as she was cast in minor role in films made from her father. Also, she worked alongside her brother in the 2001 popular movie Donnie Darko. Later, she was on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the love story Secretary (2002). Both movies were critically acclaimed. The year 2006 was the time she appeared in numerous commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However the role she played in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as the single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Then she played in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Other roles she has played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to her role as the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
